At The Scheherazade Foundation we work with governments and leading non-governmental organisations all over the world to harness ancient wisdom locked in humanity’s accumulated folklore and literature.
We believe that societal problems faced today – from mental health to climate change – can be addressed by drawing on the stories that surround us. Far more than mere entertainments, treasuries such as The Thousand & One Nights are complex psychological resources that have been developed and refined over millennia for the benefit of all.
We were delighted to be hosted by Her Majesty the Queen at Clarence House in November to celebrate the first anniversary of the World Story Bank, our initiative to preserve and 'rewild' traditional stories and folktales around the Globe.
